The Commonwealth Climate and Law Initiative (CCLI) is an initiative that consults legal experts to produce research and practical tools that promote effective sustainable governance practice at the board level. The CCLI examines and consolidates legal requirements for companies to address climate risks, building an authoritative evidence base on the issue, with the support of the opinions of legal experts. Integration of climate risk considerations by companies will reduce their risk of liability.

The CCLI was founded by the University of Oxford Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment, ClientEarth, and Accounting for Sustainability, and has Canadian partners with the Canada Climate Law Initiative. On their website, climate-related legal documentation is catalogued by country.
